Oklahoma City schools are closed for a fourth day today, as are Choctaw-Nicoma Park, Edmond, El Reno, Deer Creek, Midwest City-Del City, Moore, Norman, Putnam City, Shawnee and Yukon.

In Piedmont, schools are closed for a fourth day as crews repair damage from broken pipes at the elementary school, the high school and a prekindergarten, Superintendent James White said.

“This many days in a row of these kinds of temperatures, it's just hard to keep this from happening,” he said. “You try to keep those heaters running as much as you can.”

He hopes classes will be back in session Monday, but that depends on the weather.

“The whole northeast side of our district is not in very good shape,” White said. “We have parking lots that are passable, but we just can't get to all of our kids safely.”

That is the same story for most school districts.

At the college level, all three University of Oklahoma campuses are closed, as are the Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology in Okmulgee and OSU's Tulsa campus.

Oklahoma City Community College is closed again today. An announcement about weekend classes and activities will be made about 3 p.m.

Many colleges have reopened. They include Oklahoma City University, OSU's main campus and Rose State College.
