Oklahoma City-area students win Law Day contests

“Realizing the Dream: Equality for All” was the theme of Oklahoma Bar Association art and writing contest.

“Law Day is our opportunity to educate the public about the legal system,” said Oklahoma Bar Association President James T. Stuart of Shawnee. “We incorporate the art and writing contests to reach out to even the youngest citizens. It is inspiring to see these bright students so engaged and interested in the law.”

More than 1,100 students entered the contests, themed “Realizing the Dream: Equality for All.”

2013 Law Day

Law Day events include contests, a hotline for free legal advice and a one-hour informational show on public television.

Free legal advice will be available from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. May 2. In the Oklahoma City area, call (800) 456-8525. The number for Tulsa is (918) 838-8770.
