Oklahoma City-area YMCA branches mark Healthy Kids Day

Healthy Kids Day is aimed at encouraging children to eat healthful foods and get outside and exercise.

Kids at Oklahoma City area YMCA branches celebrated Health Kids Day on Wednesday with activities geared toward promoting a healthy lifestyle.

About 1,900 YMCAs nationwide participate in Healthy Kids Day. The day is timed to kick-start healthy behaviors as students prepare for the final weeks of the school year and get ready for summer.

Kids are taught about the value of making good choices when it comes to what they eat and are encouraged to exercise regularly.
