Ballet company evacuated
The Oklahoma City Ballet company was relocated to Vail after wildfires prompted the cancellation of their performance at a Colorado Springs festival. The company was expected to perform Monday night in the Green Box Arts Festival, but they were evacuated when the wildfire threat became imminent, spokeswoman Tracey Zeeck said Sunday. When air travel couldn't be secured, festival founder Chris Keesee relocated Oklahoma City Ballet, along with Keigwan + Company from New York, to the four-star Sonnealp Resort in Vail. “This was a blessing in disguise. Two great dance companies ... were able to spend an evening getting acquainted in Vail. And most importantly, everyone is safe,” Keesee said.
