CEDAR PARK, Texas — Oklahoma City and Texas played about as even of a hockey game as it could get.

In a shootout that went 10 rounds Friday night, defenseman Jamie Oleksiak beat Oklahoma City goaltender Niko Hovinen, and the Stars notched a 4-3 American Hockey League victory before 5,428 fans at Cedar Park Center. Oleksiak gave first-place Texas its 29th win of the season a day after he was dispatched to the farm team by the Dallas Stars.

Oleksiak's goal also capped a third period comeback by Texas, which trailed 3-1 with 12:34 left in the game. Mike Hedden and Justin Dowling scored goals 2:59 apart to tie the game. Dowling's seventh goal of the season came on the power play after OKC defenseman Theo Peckham was whistled for high-sticking.

Hedden had given Texas (29-13-8) a 1-0 lead in the first period, before the Barons (23-18-7) answered with three consecutive goals, from Kristians Pelss, Josh Green and Antti Tyrvainen. The Tyrvainen goal, his third of the season, came on a penalty shot.

Green gave the Barons a one-goal lead in the shootout, but the next nine shooters sent out by coach Todd Nelson failed to crack goaltender Jack Campbell. Aside from Oleksiak, Alex Chiasson scored for Texas in the shootout.

The teams play again at 7 p.m. Saturday in Cedar Park.
