PECKHAM WORKING INTO SHAPE

Veteran defenseman Theo Peckham, who has played 125 games with the Oilers the past two seasons, is with the Barons on a conditioning assignment.

“They say my weight is a little high,” Peckham said. “It was a relief just to get back out there, to be part of a team. You practice every day, but when you skate by yourself afterward it can get pretty tiring.”

Peckham was involved in the game-winning goal with 7:50 to play when Philippe Cornet tipped in Peckham's slap shot.

OIL SPILLS ...

Signed earlier this week, veteran defenseman Randy Jones, 31, played for the first time in nearly 10 months since he was with Winnipeg last season. ... Forward Mark Arcobello was reassigned to Oklahoma City after playing one game with Edmonton. In his NHL debut, Arcobello played on a line with former Barons teammates Taylor Hall and Jordan Eberle.
