Oklahoma City Barons notebook: OKC power play is struggling

Oklahoma City went 0-for-4 on the power play Saturday night in a 4-0 loss to Grand Rapids in Game 4 of the American Hockey League Western Conference finals.

Oklahoma City went 0-for-4 on the power play Saturday night in a 4-0 loss to Grand Rapids in Game 4 of the American Hockey League Western Conference finals.

In the series the Barons are 6.7 percent with the man advantage (1-of-15).

“We just need to bury some of our chances,” said coach Todd Nelson. “Marty Marincin missed a wide-open net on the second power play. If we weren't getting chances I'd be somewhat disturbed. But we're getting some chances. We just have to bear down on them.”

GREEN INTERVIEWED BY ESPN

After Friday night's game was postponed because of flooding issues at the Cox Convention Center, Barons team captain Josh Green was interviewed live by ESPN. Green's tweet that attached a photo of the flooded locker room was shown on the Today Show, ABC News and Nightline.

CLEANUP CREW GETS ARENA READY

Game 4 originally was scheduled Friday night but was postponed after heavy rainfall created flooding issues on the east side of the arena. At one point during the delay, water was pouring through the radio booth, spewing down the upper deck steps toward the lower bowl.

The east concourse, the Barons' locker room and weight room were all flooded. Paul David Emergency Services of Norman removed all the water and used fans to dry out wet areas.
