Deck scored 17 points in 19 games at Trenton and was named an ECHL All-Star before he was promoted to Oklahoma City.

“This is my most memorable season so far,” Deck said. “I just have to keep it going. Everything in the past has been great, but I need to keep working hard and hope for some better ones.”

Zach Boychuk, who was leading the Checkers in scoring with 35 points, played one game for Carolina and was reassigned to Charlotte. Boychuk, though, was claimed off waivers by Pittsburgh and flew to New York to join the Penguins.
