Deck scored 17 points in 19 games at Trenton and was named an ECHL All-Star before he was promoted to Oklahoma City.

“This is my most memorable season so far,” Deck said. “I just have to keep it going. Everything in the past has been great, but I need to keep working hard and hope for some better ones.”

Defenseman Brandon Davidson, who underwent treatment for testicular cancer, has been cleared to resume workouts. ... The Barons will be wearing one-of-a-kind jerseys on Friday that will be auctioned off after the game. Proceeds will go to the team's Special Olympics Barons Buddies program. ... Goaltender Yann Danis has been reassigned to the Barons but arrived in OKC late Thursday and wasn't in uniform. ... The Barons released defenseman Kane Lafranchise, a free agent picked up from the Alaska Aces in the ECHL. ... Zach Boychuk, who was leading the Checkers in scoring with 35 points, played one game for Carolina and was reassigned to Charlotte. Boychuk, though, was claimed off waivers by Pittsburgh and flew to New York to join the Penguins.
