The Oklahoma City Barons roster was trimmed to 26 players Monday, including one forward who was an American Hockey League All-Star last season.

Philippe Cornet, who led Barons goal scorers last season, was sent to Stockton of the Double-A-level East Coast Hockey League. Cornet scored 24 goals and was tied for third in points with 37, helping Oklahoma City reach the Western Conference finals. Cornet's demotion might be an indication of how strong the Barons will be when they open the regular season Friday against Lake Erie in Cleveland, Ohio.

Oklahoma City also sent forward Toni Rajala to Stockton.

AHL teams can suit up 20 players, but Barons general manager Bill Scott might keep 26 to open the season.

In a separate transaction, the Barons loaned defenseman Teigan Zahn to Stockton. Zahn played with the University of Calgary last season and signed with the Barons over the summer.

Over the weekend the Edmonton Oilers, reassigned Barons goaltender Tyler Bunz to Stockton and released forwards Justin Maylan and Eric Hunter from tryout agreements. Oklahoma City will open the season with AHL All-Star Yann Danis and Olivier Roy as its goaltenders.
