Several Barons teammates and staff members have shaved their heads in support of defenseman Brandon Davidson, who was diagnosed with testicular cancer last month. Davidson will undergo chemotherapy treatment on Monday.

“Basically it's just one round,” Davidson said. “It's a reassurance that it won't come back so we can put this thing to rest and get back to hockey. It wasn't an easy decision to make. Basically this was the best opportunity for me to put this thing to sleep and move on.”

Davidson, 21, made the Barons roster in his first pro season. He said he's received a lot of support from fans in Canada and the United States.

“He's not only my teammate he's my roommate,” said Taylor Fedun, a teammate who shaved his head. “He's had a great attitude all along. I wanted to let him know he has my support.”

BARONS' PENALTY KILL IS PERFECT

The Barons entered Friday's game with the AHL's best power play (23.2 percent) but the worst — 30th — penalty killing unit (78.1 percent).

The only power play goal in Oklahoma City's 5-1 win over San Antonio was scored by the Barons' Magnus Paajarvi late in the game.
