The Barons were 1-of-6 on the power play, San Antonio 0-of-5.

“The power play definitely needs some work,” said Jordan Eberle, who scored a goal and an assist. “We definitely struggled. If we can figure that out it will be a big key (Saturday).”


Defenseman Justin Schultz, who leads the AHL with 35 points, scored his 12th goal of the season but left with five minutes left after taking a slap shot to his ankle while killing off a penalty. ... Barons goaltender Yann Danis stopped 25 of 26 shots to improve his saves percentage to 91.5. ... Team captain Josh Green left the game with seven minutes remaining after suffering a cut on his forehead even though Green got the best of a fight. ... Saturday's game is the Teddy Bear Toss. After the Barons score their first goal fans toss stuffed animals onto the ice which will be collected and donated to EMSA for Kids for Christmas. ... The Barons give away a vehicle at every Saturday home game. This time it will be a Jeep Wrangler.
