Oklahoma City beer brewer COOP Ale Works unveiled a new state-of-the-art brewery building Tuesday, promising an increase in production and an expansion of its lineup of canned beers.
The building at 4745 Council Heights Road in far southwest Oklahoma City gives COOP nearly 15,000 square feet of space, with the possibility for an additional 10,000 square feet in expansion space. COOP’s previous and first home was a 5,200-square-foot building near NW 51 and N Western Avenue.
The increased space features a fully automated, 30-barrel brewing system that COOP leaders call the most technologically advanced system in the state. One barrel is equivalent to approximately 31 gallons of beer, meaning COOP will be able to produce several hundred gallons of beer in each batch.
The increased production will allow COOP’s team of six full-time and two part-time employees to roll out canned offerings of all six of its core beer products; currently only three of COOP’s year-round beers are available at liquor stores.
