Oklahoma City brothers arrested on cockfighting complaints; bestiality DVD found

Gerardo Sequiel Romero Rios, 34, Jesus Manuel Romero Rios, 31, and Lorenzo Antonio Romero Rios, 26, remain in the Oklahoma County jail today on complaints of instigating or encouraging cockfighting, keeping a place or equipment for cockfighting, servicing or facilitating a cockfight and owning, possessing or keeping a bird for fighting, jail records show.

Jesus Rios also faces complaints of possession of cocaine and possession of a sawed-off rifle.

Bail was set at $8,000 each for Lorenzo and Gerardo Rios and $15,000 for Jesus Rios.

A woman going door-to-door to talk to people about her church saw what she suspected was an organized cockfight at 1616 SW Binkley Ave. about 11:45 a.m. Saturday, according to an Oklahoma City police report released today. She approached a nearby police officer, who went to the residence and saw feathers, blood spots, caged birds, an uncaged hen and the Rios brothers in the yard. The brothers told police they lived in the home.

Police searched the home and found a set of knives, called gaffs, used in cockfighting, a sawed-off rifle with ammunition, drug paraphernalia and cocaine, cockfighting magazines, syringes, cameras, a DVD about cockfighting and a DVD depicting women having sex with dogs, the report states.

Officers also found two live roosters, two dead roosters, a parakeet, two eggs and the uncaged hen. An animal control officer took custody of the animals.
