Oklahoma City checkpoint nets 12 arrests overnight

An Oklahoma County sheriff's office traffic checkpoint overnight in Oklahoma City resulted in 12 arrests, 85 citations and 30 warnings, according to a news release. Seventeen vehicles were impounded.
The checkpoint started at 10:30 p.m. last night at N Pennsylvania Avenue and W Hefner Road and lasted four hours. It was the latest of a series of monthly checkpoints operated by the sheriff's office.
Of the 12 arrests, five were for DUI, four were for driving under suspension and three were for active warrants, according to the sheriff's office. Of the 85 traffic citations, 25 were for no insurance, 20 for driving under suspension, 10 for expired tags, seven for no driver's license, five for child restraint violations, four for no driver's license in possession, two for seat belt violations, one for improper tag display and one for transporting an open container.
The warnings were for offenses ranging from insurance and tag violations, driver's license violations, and traffic and equipment violations, according to the sheriff's office.
