Oklahoma City civic groups announce Beautification Station 2014, an annual tour open to the public that will feature and celebrate landmark events, scenes and projects in Oklahoma City.
This year’s tour will focus on Oklahoma City parks, said Neighborhood Alliance spokeswoman Jennifer Meckling.
The Neighborhood Alliance, OKC Beautiful and The Oklahoma City Community Foundation will host the tour from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 17.
For a $5 nonrefundable registration fee, participants will receive the guided tour on an air-conditioned charter bus, along with water, snacks and lunch.
“You’ll hear about projects, big and small, through which citizens and private organizations have partnered with our city and the parks department to affect some spectacular change that we now enjoy as walkable, playable, admirable park space,” Meckling said.
This will mark the organizations’ seventh year to host the tour.
Participants must be age 12 or older, and organizers advise all who attend to wear comfortable shoes as there will be a lot of walking.
