Howdy folks, time for another #OKC Council meeting. No Ed Shadid and no Pat Ryan today.

8:39 a.m.
Check out the agenda and watch live video at links here: okc.gov/AgendaPub/meet… or watch on Cox channel 20

8:41 a.m.
OK, we can also talk OU-Texas RT @stevelackmeyer: @OKC_Beat BORING!

8:41 a.m.
Shadid is here, still no Ryan though.

8:47 a.m.
City Manager Jim Couch is up there. Assistant CM, former Police Chief M.T. Berry is in his chair. Don't know if I've seen M.T. there before.

8:55 a.m.
Right now, Councilman Skip Kelly is asking about an item related to vehicles impounded for violating a nuisance ordinance.

8:56 a.m.
The actual item is authorizing the city to lease space for a place to store those vehicles, but Kelly is asking about the program itself.

8:56 a.m.
It's an ordinance that labels certain kinds of activities as nuisances, and the car can be impounded for 90 days in some cases.

9:01 a.m.
Councilman Larry McAtee interjects to remind everyone this program was created after drive-by shootings on police officers.

9:02 a.m.
Use of a vehicle for prostitution purposes is also one of the things that can get a car in the impound.

9:03 a.m.
Kelly is asking about what happens if someone uses a taxi.

9:04 a.m.
Citty says that there are lots of ways to protect people who own a car who aren't the ones using it for a crime.

9:05 a.m.
Citty (Police Chief Bill Citty) says it's not one thing that deters crimes, it's multiple things that you can do to deter it, and this is 1.

9:07 a.m.
Citty says street prostitution is up, but points out it could have been higher without this. Hard to tell if it helps based on stats.

9:08 a.m.
Anyway, it all passes as part of the consent/concurrence/etc. part of agenda. It was just for a storage facility for existing ordinance.

9:20 a.m.
On to items from council. A brisk meeting today.

9:23 a.m.
This meeting has been particularly light on news. There was an item today about Stage Center that could have been newsy, but it was deferred

9:25 a.m.
The item would have approved a recommendation that Stage Center should be considered eligible for the National Register of Historic Places.

9:29 a.m.
Councilwoman Meg Salyer got to go to an Oklahoma Caring Foundation where Magic Johnson helped raise $30k, donated $25k more.

9:31 a.m.
Wow. The city council meeting is already over. That's the fastest meeting I've seen in about 15 months of covering the council.

9:31 a.m.
