The council recently set elections for Wards 2, 5, 6 and 8. The primary will be March 1, with a general election scheduled April 5, if needed.

The filing period will be Jan. 27-31.

Brian Walters (Ward 5), Pat Ryan (Ward 8) said they will run for re-election. Meg Salyer (Ward 6) is out of the country and could not be reached for comment.

Sam Bowman (Ward 2) has said he does not intend to seek re-election.

Ward 2 is in the north-central part of the city. It's roughly bordered by Portland Avenue, NW 122, Santa Fe and NW 23.
