The Oklahoma City-County Health Department is offering free total wellness classes.
The program provides the tools to learn how to delay or prevent the onset of chronic diseases by helping people change their eating and exercise habits. The classes teach skills to help participants lose weight and keep the pounds off.
Classes will meet for an hour each week for 12 weeks. Participants will be encouraged to set goals of losing 5 percent of their body weight and becoming more active. The program teaches the basics of good nutrition, the importance of physical activity and the key steps for successful weight control.

Village Library, 10207 N Pennsylvania, 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesdays, starting May 8.
Midwest City Library, 8143 E Reno, 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursdays, starting May 9.
Metro Tech Business Conference Center, 1900 Springlake Drive, 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesdays, starting May 14.
Ralph Ellison Library, 200 NE 23, 5 to 6 p.m. Thursdays, starting May 16.
