An Oklahoma City doctor was arrested this week after a fistfight with a former patient, police said.

Police were sent to the scene of the incident shortly before 6 p.m. Tuesday at 11510 N May Ave. When officers arrived, Ginger Rogers, 47, told officers she was waiting on a staircase outside her apartment for a package delivery when Dr. Labib Sam Musallam, 64, came down the stairs with his dog. Using a vulgar term, Musallam asked Rogers to move, Rogers told police.

Rogers told police Musallam slapped her with some papers he was carrying, and a fistfight ensued. Rogers told police she bit Musallam’s left hand, breaking the skin. Musallam kicked her in the ribs, she said. After a few moments, a bystander broke up the fight.

Musallam admitted to slapping Rogers with the papers, but told police he kicked her in the ribs because she bit his hand and wouldn’t let go.

Rogers and Musallam both told officers that Rogers had been Musallam’s patient, but the two had a disagreement that led to a court case.

Officers arrested Musallam on an assault and battery complaint and took him to Deaconess Hospital for treatment. Musallam told police he didn’t want to press charges against Rogers. Musallam was booked at the Oklahoma County jail and released Wednesday on bail.

Rogers was taken to Integris Health Edmond, where she was treated and released. Officers couldn’t find Rogers at her apartment later. Police planned to request a warrant for her arrest, an incident report shows. has disabled the comments for this article.
