The US Men’s National team announced on Friday 21 players who have been called into camp for the Under-21 team.

Among the list, Oklahoma City Energy FC goalkeeper Jon Kempin.

Kempin is in Oklahoma City on loan from Sporting Kansas City, who have already recalled him once this season. The Leawood, Kansas native has played 270 minutes in three matches for Oklahoma City, recording one shutout.

“I think it’s a great opportunity,” Kempin told The Oklahoman. “I feel like it has come at a great time for me with all of the games I am getting and the training under Jimmy (Nielsen) and the coaching staff. I feel confident and it should be a great experience.”

The camp runs from Sunday to Thursday, April 24 and the Youth Technical Director Tab Ramos said to that the Men’s National team wants to get its future players together as soon as possible.

Most of the players on this year’s U-21 team will make up the roster of the US Men’s National U-23 team that will attempt to qualify for the 2016 Olympics. Kendall McIntosh of Santa Clara, Calif. is one of two non-professional players to receive the call-up. McIntosh is the only other goalkeeper to get the invite.

Players will spend three days training before a friendly with Club Tijuana on Wednesday night.

Kempin will be available for Oklahoma City’s home opener against Orlando City on Saturday, April 26. He said he will return to OKC on Thursday to begin training with Energy FC once again.

Ray Clark and Samir Badr are also goalkeepers on Energy FC’s roster.
