Another Tuesday and another United Soccer League’s Pro division Team of the Week. And make it two more awards for Oklahoma City Energy FC as Mark Howard and Mikey Lopez were named to the team for week 15.
Lopez, who was on loan from Sporting Kansas City for the last month, was recalled by the MLS team on Monday. The second-year pro scored his first professional goal on Saturday in Energy FC’s 2-0 win over Sacramento.
Howard scored the other goal in the match, heading in a corner kick from Adda Djeziri in the 52nd minute.
It is the first time this season either Lopez or Howard has earned the award. Foward Kyle Greig and defender Kyle Miller both earned honorable mention for the team. Greig missed on his only shot in the match, a breakaway attempt that would’ve made the score 3-0. Greig made the team in week 3 and Miller in week 4.
