The United Soccer League’s Pro division Team of the Week is out for week six and once again it features a pair from Oklahoma City Energy FC.
Cyprian Hedrick and Steven Perry both earned the weekly award for the first time this season.
Oklahoma City played one game last week, losing to defending champion Orlando City 2-1 in OKC’s home opener on Saturday night. Perry, a forward, scored Energy FC’s goal in the 92nd minute.
Orlando City’s Kevin Molino had one goal in the match and earned USL Pro’s Player of the Week.
Perry played high school soccer in Oklahoma City and did it at Pribil Stadium, where Energy FC plays. The McGuinness alum scored 40 goals in his senior season in 2007. Perry’s goal vs. Orlando City was his second of the season after scoring one against Arizona United on April 12.
Hedrick helped Energy FC’s back line on a few different occasions Saturday night. The defender and 3-year pro had his hands full with a very active Orlando City team.
Oklahoma City heads to Orlando this weekend for a rematch with the champs on Sunday night at 6 p.m.
