National shooting event in OKC
The Oklahoma City Gun Club will be the site Saturday and June 24 for High Plains Shooting Challenge, a shotgun competition featuring some of the best shooters in the country.
The two-day match generally features a dozen courses of fire with shooting from unorthodox positions.
Shooting will start at 9 a.m. each day. Spectators are welcome but they must bring eye and ear protection.

Free kayaking on Father's Day
OKC RIVERSPORT is offering dads a free kayak rental on Father's Day when accompanied by a child with a paid kayak rental.
The offer is valid from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at both the Route 66 Boathouse at Lake Overholser and the Boathouse District downtown on the Oklahoma River.
Lower Illinois clean-up
Members of the 89er Chapter of Trout Unlimited and the Oklahoma Chapter of Trout Unlimited will be picking up trash on the banks of the Lower Illinois River near Gore on Saturday.

DU banquet in Stillwater
Ducks Unlimited is holding a fund raising banquet Saturday in Stillwater at the Payne County Fairgounds.
Doors open at 6 p.m. Guns and 75th anniversary Ducks Unlimited merchandise will be available for auction and raffles.

Prairie chicken plan
June 26 is the deadline for public comment on the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation's plan to save the lesser prairie chicken.
Lesser prairie chickens are a candidate to be listed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service as an endangered or threatened species.
