Oklahoma City homicides: Deadly violence menaces compact area

Saleda Wilson, 16, was found dead July 7 in a bathtub at 1440 North Court. Her brother, Chance Wilson, admitted to injecting her with meth and was charged in her death in August.

Quashea Monique Durham, 20, of Midwest City, was shot to death Aug. 29 while sitting on the porch at 1820 N Kelham after a man walked up to the home and started shooting. The mother of two attended Rose State College. Two others at the home were shot, but survived. Her case remains unsolved, and police consider it to be gang-related.

Phillip Washington, 33, was found shot at 118 NE 37 and taken to a hospital, where he died. Another shooting victim survived. The Sept. 2 shooting remains unsolved and is tied to gang violence, police said.

Francisco Javier Ramirez, 19, and Freddy Valle, 22, were found shot to death Sept. 16 in a car parked near NE 24 and Lottie. Police arrested Charles Mallory, 26. The case has gang ties.

Vertis Lavaill Shaver, 36, was shot to death Sept. 22 after arguing with Tiara Marie Marshall at 3213 N Fonshill. Police arrested Marshall on a murder complaint in the domestic-related homicide.

Oklahoma City police hit Timothy Dennis, 43, with a Taser on Sept. 23 at 1500 NE 18. Dennis died three days later. Police said Dennis tried to flee from police about 7:20 p.m. in the 1500 block of NE 18 after officers received a call that a man was walking down the street firing a gun. Officers used a Taser to subdue Dennis. He was shocked once.

Frances Ruth Madison, 52, was standing outside by a pickup at 3232 NE 15 when she was shot and killed Oct. 8. The gang-related case remains unsolved.
