Oklahoma City house blaze blamed on cord

A fire that destroyed a one-story wooden frame house on Monday was started by an electrical cord, a fire official said.

The fire at 2433 NW 2 started about 11:10 a.m., and firefighters battled heavy flames.

The roof and porch had extensive damage but did not collapse, a fire official said.

The rear part of the house did collapse, fire Battalion Chief Dewey Schmidt said.
