An Oklahoma City man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence for the 12th time after driving his van into a light pole, police said.
Max Dewayne McClure, 67, was booked into the Oklahoma County jail on complaints of driving under the influence, driving with a revoked license, transporting an open container of beer and striking a street fixture with a vehicle, according to a police report.
The officer who arrested him wrote in the report that it was the 12th time McClure had been arrested on suspicion of DUI.
About 4:50 p.m. Thursday, a vehicle struck a light pole at SW 21 and May Avenue. A police officer noticed several open containers of beer in the car, smelled alcohol on the driver's breath and said he was slurring his words, according to the report.
McClure refused the state blood test, stating, “It would be a waste of time, so no,” according to the report.
McClure has pleaded guilty eight times in Oklahoma County on various charges involving driving and alcohol, court records show.
