An Oklahoma City man was jailed Monday after his stepfather accused him of stabbing his dog in the neck.
Police responded to a home at 2228 NW 1st Terrace about 6 p.m. Sunday and found a dog lying on the front porch bleeding from the neck.
Floyd Woods, the owner of the dog, told officers he and his stepson, Anthony Johnson, 31, were arguing, and the dog began to bark because he doesn’t like confrontation.
Johnson got angry at the dog and stabbed him twice before leaving the house, Woods told police.
Johnson recently was released from prison after serving time for a 2007 conviction of assault with a deadly weapon and concealing stolen property. He was booked into the Oklahoma County jail on a complaint of animal cruelty and was being held Tuesday on $4,000 bail.
The dog was running around and appeared to be OK when officers left, police said.
