A father was arrested after two toddlers were found wandering around a northwest Oklahoma City motel unattended, police said.
Brian Taylor Robbins, 25, of Oklahoma City, was arrested Monday on complaints of possession of a controlled dangerous substance, child neglect and possession of marijuana, according to the incident report.
Police were called about 9:10 a.m. to the Days Inn, 2801 NW 39 Expressway, in reference to two young children wandering around the motel unsupervised.
Officers were told a 1-year-old boy was wearing a soiled diaper, and both he and a 2-year-old boy were sunburned. The boys were unable to wake up their father, according to the report.
Officers found Robbins asleep and woke him. Robbins said he did not know his children left the room and were wandering around the motel, according to the report. Officers noted there was spoiled food, clothes and diapers on the floor of the motel room.
Police reported finding two plastic baggies — one containing marijuana in Robbins's pocket and one containing a crystal substance on the floor. The crystal substance tested positive as methamphetamine, according to the report.
The police took the children into child protective custody and called the Department of Human Services.
Robbins was taken to the Oklahoma County jail. His bail is set at $14,000, jail officials said Tuesday.
