An Oklahoma City man accused of killing a small puppy told police he was “defeating dogzilla.”
Tyrone Darrell Webb, 34, was arrested Friday on an animal cruelty complaint, according to an Oklahoma City police report released Monday.
Police were called about 5:25 p.m. to 820 N Ellison Ave. by a witness who said she saw a man pick up a puppy and slam it to the ground across the street from her residence, according to the report.
The woman said the man cursed and spit at her when she asked him what he was doing.
The woman took the puppy after the man left. The puppy died a few minutes later, and she placed it in a cardboard box, she told police.
Officers saw the dead puppy and made contact with Webb, who was wearing a toy mixed martial arts style belt. Webb said he won it by “defeating dogzilla,” according to the report.
Webb was arrested and taken to the Oklahoma County jail. While being booked, Webb made gestures and talked to an invisible object, according to the report.
His bail was set at $2,000, a jail official said Monday.
Animal welfare took the dead puppy, which belonged to Webb.
