A 42-year-old Oklahoma City man was found dead at his home next to an unharmed 3-year-old child late Saturday, Oklahoma City police said.

Police responded at 11:45 a.m. to 9409 Eagle Hill Drive in northwest Oklahoma City after the victim's 21-year-old son called police, Capt. Dee Patty said. The son told police he was upstairs when he heard a loud noise.

He came downstairs to find his father shot to death on the couch, next to an unharmed child, Patty said. The front door to the house was open.

The child's relationship to the victim and victim's son was not immediately known, Patty said.

“As of 2 a.m. there was no suspect information,” Patty said.

Detectives declined to name the victim Sunday, Patty said.

The homicide occurred in a back unit of a fourplex off W Britton Road east of N Rockwell Avenue. has disabled the comments for this article.
