An Oklahoma City man who was arrested last week is accused of stealing a microwave from a house and trying to sell it back to its owner.
Rodney Glenn Lee, 55, was arrested Thursday on complaints of burglary and assault and battery.
Police were called about 10:15 p.m. to the 1500 block of NE 16 Terrace in reference to a disturbance call. The reporting officer found Lee and a woman being held in the back of patrol cars. Officers on the scene told the reporting officer the woman and other family members saw the man leaving their house, carrying a microwave, according to the incident report.
The woman told officers that she and her family were driving their vehicle south on N Jordan Avenue, approaching their home when they noticed a man walking away from their home’s front lawn, according to the report.
The woman said the man started waving at them and asked if they wanted to buy a microwave. The woman noticed her front door was open and the lights inside were on and then noticed the microwave the man was holding, according to the report.
The woman then got out of her vehicle and chased the man, before they began to fight.
Officers arrived on the scene after neighbors called 911. Officers arrested Lee and gave the microwave back to the woman, according to the report.
Lee was taken to the hospital to be medically cleared before being taken to the Oklahoma County jail. He has been incarcerated in 2002, 2008 and 2009 on burglary charges, according to state Corrections Department records.
