The woman even hugged Cranfill and told him that she loved him so she could escape, police reported.
The woman ran out of the residence and locked herself in a van until police arrived.
She told police Cranfill also struck her several times in the face with a closed fist and broke out the driver's side window of the van, the affidavit states.
Police reported finding a large amount of plastic with painter's tape on it in the house and a large orange box in the back of Cranfill's truck.
Cranfill was being held Tuesday in the Oklahoma County jail, with bail set at $250,000, a jailer said.
He has prior convictions in Oklahoma County for second- and third-degree arson, court records show.
