City man posing as meter reader
Is jailed on burglary complaints
An Oklahoma City man was arrested on burglary complaints recently after two people reported they found him in their houses falsely claiming to be a meter reader for Oklahoma Natural Gas Co. Randall Eugene Dunn, 51, was arrested July 3 after two similar burglary reports in northwest Oklahoma City. He could not be reached for comment. In one case, a resident at 8328 NW 77 said he walked inside his house to find a man wearing an orange vest standing in the living room. The man had a leather-bound notebook in his hand and claimed to be a meter reader for ONG. The man then left in a pickup. A week earlier, a resident at 4200 Cherry Hill Lane told a similar story. That resident got a tag number of the suspect's pickup. Police matched the pickup to a woman who said she had loaned it to Dunn, her brother. Dunn was located and arrested. He acknowledged being in the garages of the homes but said he didn't enter the houses and didn't steal anything. He was jailed on two burglary complaints and released after posting $12,000 bail.
