An Oklahoma City man's throat was slashed by an angry motorcyclist during an apparent road rage attack in a store parking lot.

Zack Pierson lived after the Friday morning confrontation, and he is recovering from his injuries, Warr Acres police said.

Pierson, on Saturday, said he felt lucky to be alive.

What happened?

He said he pulled into the Buy for Less parking lot, 3701 N MacArthur Blvd. about 10:50 a.m. Friday. He dropped off his wife and went to park his car.

A man on a motorcycle had followed him into the parking lot.

The motorcyclist thought he'd been cut off on the road, Pierson said.

Pierson said he did not realize this, or notice the man was following him, until after he parked his car.

The motorcyclist, who had a female passenger, pulled up next to Pierson and began yelling profanities and accusing him of cutting him off on the road.

Pierson said he got out of his car and told the man to calm down. Pierson said the motorcyclist told him if he came any closer, he'd “be done.”

The motorcyclist got off his bike and pulled out a knife, Pierson said.
