Members of the Canadian Valley Technology Center Foundation Board of Trustees honored two former members for their longtime contributions in fostering technology education.

C.J. Hansen, of Calumet, was honored for 28 years of service as a member of the foundation board of trustees. Hansen was a charter member of the board, serving from 1984-2012. Hansen was also a charter member of the Canadian Valley Board of Education, serving from 1968-1979. He helped formulate the framework of the school, which opened its doors in 1970. The 1,300-square mile Canadian Valley school district serves 15 area high schools and associated communities mostly in Canadian and Grady counties with campuses in El Reno, Yukon and Chickasha.

Donna Von Tungeln, of Calumet, was honored for eight years of service on the foundation board. The former Canadian Valley student services director served the foundation from 2005 to 2012.

Canadian Valley's foundation board provides tuition scholarships for qualified daytime and evening adult students and covers other costs for students based on demonstrated financial need.
