Del City to host Shop with a Cop

Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 114 will hold its Shop With a Del City Cop on Saturday. The event will involve 20 kids from 17 families. Each child will be able to choose $125 worth of items from Walmart. The items chosen will then be wrapped and given to families. The children were selection by local agencies and the money donated by Walmart and Sam's Club.

Items collected for seniors

Neighborhood Alliance is collecting items for its Christmas Cheer campaign for seniors at RiverPark. Each year the group delivers 50 seniors a care package filled with items like gloves, socks, shampoo, deodorant, magnifying glasses, nail clippers and dry food items. Items can be donated to Neighborhood Alliance at 1236 NW 36.

Tree display, craft market scheduled

Legend at Rivendell, an assisted living community at 13200 S May Ave., will hold its parade of trees and Christmas craft market this month. Proceeds benefit the local chapter of the Alzheimer's Association. The parade of trees features dozens of donated holiday trees. The trees are on display and up for bid through 4 p.m. on Dec. 15. The crafts fair will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Dec. 15 with more than 50 vendors selling jewelry, handbags, makeup and home decor.
