Groundbreaking scheduled

The Midwest City Veterans Memorial will hold a groundbreaking ceremony at 9 a.m. Friday at the southeast corner of Joe Barnes Regional Park on S Douglas Boulevard. Organizers have raised more than $200,000 for the project.

Pancakes, fishing on tap in Yukon

The Yukon Rotary Club will hold its 46th annual pancake day Saturday at the Robertson Activity Center, 1200 Lakeshore Drive. Festivities will run from 7 to 11 a.m. Cost is $5 for adults, $3 for children younger than 12 and free for children younger than 3. There also will be a raffle for an iPad. The Yukon Parks and Recreation Department will host its Big Trout Fish Out from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the same location. Poles will be available, and fish will be cleaned for $1 per fish. Bird conservation seminar offered
