Living center offers contest

Emeritus at Quail Creek, a senior living community, is offering some Valentine cheer to a local senior citizen. People who want to nominate a senior who will be spending Valentine's Day home alone can do so by sending the person's name and contact information, your contact information and a brief explanation of why the person is being nominated. The winner will receive a dinner at home along with gifts and companionship. Submissions are due by Feb. 7 and can be emailed to quailcreek-led@emeritus.com, or by mail to Kathleen Garrett, Emeritus at Quail Creek, 12928 N May Ave.

Red Cross hosts fundraiser

The American Red Cross will holds its Operation Relief: Shawnee fundraiser Saturday at the Grand Casino Hotel and Resort in Shawnee. The evening will feature Las Vegas style entertainment, tournament style games of chance, dancing, drinks, food and silent and live auctions. Tickets are $65 each and $120 per couple, or $500 for a reserved table for eight. For more information call 321-0591.
