Tribe origins explored at museum

The National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum, 1700 NE 63, will host Saturdays for Kids at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. Saturday. This week's program will explore the culture and history of the Otoe-Missouria Tribe. Children and families will participate in a photo scavenger hunt and have the opportunity to win prizes. The program is open to families and children ages 4 to 12. For more information, call 478-2250, ext. 264.

Art gallery to open Saturday

Gallery 66 opens Saturday at 6728 NW 39 Expressway. Located in downtown Bethany, it will showcase works from regional artists and students. Susan Hollars, a retired teacher, is partner and manager.

For its inaugural month, the gallery will showcase paintings by Erik Sunderman and Elizabeth Mercer, a husband and wife specializing in decorative painting, interior and exterior painting, signs and murals.
