Edmond schools awarded rebates

Edmond Public Schools has received rebates from Edmond Electric and the Oklahoma Municipal Power Authority. The checks for more than $25,000 will pay for heating, ventilation and air-conditioning upgrades at John Ross Elementary. Edmond Electric awarded a rebate to the district in the amount of $19,251. The Oklahoma Municipal Power Authority awarded a rebate for $6,380.

Stand Down to help American Indian veterans

An intertribal stand down will be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 27 at the Gordon Cooper Technology Center in Shawnee, 1 John C Bruton Blvd. The stand down is intended to raise awareness of American Indian veterans who are homeless or living in poor or overcrowded conditions. The event will offer resources including legal aid assistance, vocational rehabilitation service information, housing options and veteran benefits.
