Man held in drug case

A fanny pack police said was full of drugs and knives landed an Oklahoma City man in jail. Police encountered Steven Haggard, 43, at the corner of SW 37 and S Blackwelder Avenue about 10:30 p.m. Saturday. An officer noticed a knife his jacket pocket and asked Haggard if he had any more weapons. Haggard told the officer he had three more knives and several syringes in the fanny pack around his waist, according to the police report. Officers found a baggy of suspected crystal meth, two baggies with four pills inside each and 5.3 grams in mushrooms that Haggard said he picked himself, according to the report. Officers also found numerous syringes and two spoons, the report states. Haggard was wanted on a warrant for violating a suspended sentence from a 2003 conviction of possessing meth, police said.

Cry for help ends in arrest

A man who ran into the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge looking for help was arrested instead. An Oklahoma City police officer was eating lunch Tuesday at the lodge at 1624 S Agnew Ave. when he saw a man banging on the glass window, bleeding from his hand and smearing blood on the door, according to the police report. Modesto Rodriguez Villa, 59, told police he was being chased by two men and had cut his hand while jumping a fence during the chase. Police searched Villa and found a clear plastic bag containing 89.5 grams of a purple crystalline substance that tested positive for methamphetamine and $16,590, according to the report. At Villa's home, police interviewed a woman with a cut on her face who said Villa had kicked a large hole through a door, threw her on the ground, threw a knife at her and threatened to kill her. She also told police Villa had struck her head with a hammer a few weeks ago and the stitches had been removed recently. Police took the knife and also found two handguns on the property. Villa was arrested on complaints of assault and battery, trafficking controlled dangerous substances, possession of drug proceeds, possession of a firearm in commission of a felony and domestic abuse. He was taken to the Oklahoma County jail, where he was being held without bail.
