OKC Home & Outdoor Living Show Welcomes ‘Top Chef' Alum
Chris Crary, a fan-favorite on season nine of Bravo's “Top Chef,” will bring his expertise and passion for cooking to the annual OKC Home & Outdoor Living Show this weekend at State Fair Park.
Crary will share some of his favorite cooking tricks and his story about how healthy eating helped him shed more than 70 pounds. He will demonstrate two healthy variations of classic dishes and provide samples and recipes for this spring season.
Crary is the executive chef of the exclusive private dining club 41 Ocean in Santa Monica, Calif. Crary is still a frequent online and blog contributor for Bravo TV.
Beyond Crary's cooking demonstrations and tips, more than 200 exhibitors and 500 experts will be at the OKC Home & Outdoor Living Show to provide professional advice and tips allowing attendees to get ideas and inspiration for their homes and gardens.
The OKC Home & Outdoor Living Show is a three-day event set for Friday through Sunday that will showcase ideas for remodeling, home improvement and outdoor living. Adult admission is $9, and admission for children ages 12 and under is free. Sprouts Farmers Market opens in Norman
NORMAN — Sprouts Farmers Market opens at 7 a.m. Tuesday at 555 W Main St. To celebrate, Sprouts ‘Team Norman' will host Sprouts Sprint — the natural grocers version of the old game show Supermarket Sweep. Two local residents will be chosen to compete through an online contest to find Sprouts' biggest fan in Norman and a chance to win a $1,000 in groceries.
A few special events are planned for grand opening week, March 26 through March 30, including: Grocery goody bags to the first 200 customers on Wednesday; free sandwich booklets to the first 300 customers on Saturday; free reusable grocery bags on opening day; muffins, milk and coffee to first 200 people at store opening day; and every 15th customer gets a bounceback coupon booklet on opening day.
Cool Beans Coffee now open in Norman
NORMAN — Cool Beans Coffee is now open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at 1230 Alameda St. Owners Nicki Tribble and John Whitson decided to open the shop to offer the east side of Norman a drive-thru coffee shop. The business uses environmentally friendly practices and local products to help reduce shipping costs, which provides a fresher product to its customers. The coffee is made by Oklahoma City-based Elemental Roasters and the milk is from Tuttle-based Braum's. The menu features coffee and specialty drinks ranging from $1.50 to $4.25. The menu includes lattes, mochas, caramel macchiatos, chai lattes, Americanos, iced coffee, tea, chocolate milk, hot chocolate and juice. All drinks can be served over ice. Pastries are available for $1.
