Economic preview planned
EDMOND — The Edmond Economic Development Authority will present the 2013 Edmond Economic Preview Luncheon, sponsored by First Fidelity Bank, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Jan. 29 in Nigh University Center at the University of Central Oklahoma. State Treasurer Ken Miller will kick off the event with a state economic report. Deidre Myers, director of research and economic analysis for the Oklahoma Commerce Department, will discuss economic trends. Janet Yowell, executive director of the Edmond Economic Development Authority, will present updates on the latest Edmond projects. A flash drive presented to all registrants will include all presentations and other information including Edmond real estate market reports. Registration is $40 until 5 p.m. Jan. 23, then $50. Tables of eight may be purchased for $300 until Jan. 23. Call 340-0116. Cost includes lunch.

Homeowners can get free advice
The Oklahoma attorney general's office and Legal Aid Services of Oklahoma are providing free legal help to homeowners who are facing mortgage issues or foreclosure. The program — Resolution Oklahoma — is provided by a grant from the Attorney General's Oklahoma Mortgage Settlement Fund. The fund was created in March, following a settlement by the attorney general's office with five of the nation's largest mortgage servicers, separate from the national agreement. Mortgages do not need to be with one of the five servicers to apply for the Resolution Oklahoma program. Oklahomans with lower incomes or seniors should first contact Legal Aid Services of Oklahoma to determine if they qualify for income-based assistance under Resolution Oklahoma. Homeowners who do not qualify for income-based need can apply for a voucher worth up to $5,000 in legal services through the attorney general's office under the Resolution Oklahoma program. Voucher applications are available online at www.oag.ok.gov, by email at PublicProtection@oag.ok.gov or by calling 521-2029.
