IN BRIEF

Zoo hosts open house

The Oklahoma City Zoo will hold an open house for parents and teens ages 14 to 18 for its Junior Curator Program at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Rosser Conservation Education Center on the zoo grounds. Selected teens will be able to work with keepers and staff for one year. Applications will be accepted until May 31. For more information, visit www.okczooed.com or call 425-0275.

Midwest City buys trucks

Midwest City has purchased three trucks that also will serve as snow plows. The $126,766 purchase of the trucks was approved by the city council in October. The trucks were delivered in April along with optional equipment that included three snow plows. The city also purchased three new salt and sand spreaders that will be installed on the trucks.

Reunion organizer sought

Due to the ill health of previous organizers, someone is needed to take over organizational duties for the Jackson Junior High School reunion committee. The reunion was started in 1986 for students at the Oklahoma City school who were unable to graduate because of the Great Depression and World War II. According to Oklahoma City Public Schools, Jackson Junior High School opened in 1930. For more information, call Sue Rider at 691-0523.
