The Oklahoma City Museum of Art will open its doors to the community from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday for a free Family Day.

Free admission to the museum galleries, including current special exhibition “Photorealism Revisited,” and special activities throughout the day are made possible by sponsorship from Sonic.

Free Family Day activities include:

Live performance by Squirrel & Friends, 1 to 2 p.m.

Classic animated films, 3 to 4 p.m.

Hands-on art activities.

Drop-in drawing.

Face painting.

Story times with the Metropolitan Library System.

Family tours.

Scavenger hunts.

Family Day is an opportunity for people to learn what the museum has to offer, including the permanent collection, special exhibitions and a variety of programs and classes for all ages, all of which support the museum's mission of enriching lives through the visual arts.

Nearly 2,500 visitors participated in a Family Day event in December.

“Family days are festive events that fill the whole museum with inspiring activities for all ages. We are very grateful for the support of Sonic to sponsor the event and provide free admission for all who attend,” said Chandra Boyd, senior associate curator of education.

Family Day is open to the public. Activities are appropriate for all ages, and no advance registration is required. The Oklahoma City Museum of Art is at 415 Couch Drive.
