An Oklahoma City police officer was arrested Friday on a domestic abuse complaint for punching her husband in the face.
Sgt. Cristy Cirillo, 32, was arrested Friday night by police after her husband said she assaulted him, said Master Sgt. Gary Knight.
Her husband told officers they have been married for 18 months. During an argument Friday at their residence on Pentree Drive, he said he knocked Cirillo's phone out of her hand and she punched him in the face, causing his nose to bleed, according to a police report.
Police said Cirillo's husband said he wanted to press charges against her and signed an assault and battery citation. Cirillo has been an officer in Oklahoma City for nine years.
Knight said he is unaware if Cirillo has any prior arrests or domestic disputes with her husband before Friday.
Cirillo was booked into the Oklahoma County jail at 6 a.m. Saturday and Monday morning was being held in the Oklahoma County jail without bail. Anyone arrested on a misdemeanor domestic abuse complaint is jailed for 72-hours before being released, authorities said.
