A presentation about a proposal to use a $1 million donation to fund a tree house and trails system at Martin Park Nature Center that is accessible to people with disabilities was postponed Wednesday at an Oklahoma City Parks Commission meeting.
Wilderness Matters Inc. has gotten the go-ahead from the commission and city council to design a plan for the tree house, but some people who use the park have been advocating for a plan that makes as little impact as possible on surrounding nature and wildlife in the park at W Memorial Road and N Meridian Avenue.
Wilderness Matters asked for more time to develop a plan and could present it as soon as the next parks commission meeting Nov. 14.
Any plan must win eventual approval from the city council.
