The girlfriend of a woman who was beaten and bitten on the arm was arrested on a complaint of domestic abuse.

Oklahoma City police arrested Amy Celeste Sparks, 39, on complaints of domestic abuse and assault and battery.

Police responded to the domestic abuse call about 8 p.m. Friday at Cricket Wireless, 3914 N Pennsylvania Ave. The women, who have been a couple for two years, got into an argument in the store's parking lot, police said.

Sparks began punching her girlfriend and then bit her on the upper part of her left arm, according to the police report. The victim jumped out of the car and ran into the store. Sparks followed her and continued punching her until employees pulled her off the woman and told Sparks to leave, the report states.

When police interviewed Sparks at her apartment, she denied knowing the victim and said she didn't have a girlfriend.

After police went back to their patrol car with the victim, Sparks began banging on the front window from inside the residence and yelling profanities at the woman. Police then took Sparks into custody.

She has been released from Oklahoma County jail.
