Police conducting a welfare check say they found a sex offender living with a 13-year-old boy in a southeast Oklahoma City trailer home.

Police responded to a call Monday that a 13-year-old boy was living in deplorable conditions and a sex offender also was living in the home in the 5700 block of Arrow Wood Drive, according to a police report released Wednesday.

The officer who arrived at the home about 10:50 p.m. reported a strong smell of feces coming from inside the trailer when the front door was opened.

When he asked the owner if a sex offender was living with her and her son, she said her friend Karl Zakery Endres, 40, stayed for the weekend, according to the report.

“I don't mind living with sex offenders. It's no big deal. Everybody deserves another chance. My father was a sex offender,” the woman told police.

Endres was taken into custody on two warrants — one each from Canadian and Kingfisher counties. Endres was convicted of indecent/lewd acts with a child under 16 in 2004, according to the state Corrections Department website.

The officer found holes in the trailer floor, dirty dishes, trash, dirty clothes, spoiled food, feces, roaches and insects throughout the home, according to the report.

Authorities took the teenager into protective custody.

Endres was taken to the Oklahoma County jail and then to the Canadian County jail, where he remained Wednesday. His bail is set at $1,000. has disabled the comments for this article.
