A man sought by police was found holding a rifle while hiding under the floor of a woman's house Sunday, Oklahoma City police said.
Benjamin Jay Sweezy, 23, was arrested without incident. He was wanted on complaints of shooting with intent to kill and robbery with a dangerous weapon. Sweezy also is known as Benjamin Ruff, officials said.
Samantha Marie Abbott, 27, was arrested on a complaint of harboring a fugitive and on a Canadian County misdemeanor warrant.
A caller told police about 7 p.m. Sunday that a robbery suspect's car was in the driveway of 717 SE 62, according to the incident report.
An officer saw the vehicle and knocked on the front door. Abbott answered and said Sweezy had not been in the house since Saturday, according to the report.
The officer asked if he could search the house. Abbott agreed, but then shut the door in the officer's face. When two other officers arrived, Abbott opened the door and allowed the officers to search the house. They found a closet with only a baby chair inside. When the officers moved the chair, they saw the carpet was cut. They lifted the carpet and found a door in the floor.
They opened the door and found Sweezy inside with a rifle, according to the report.
Sweezy and Abbott were taken to the Oklahoma County jail. His bail is set at $40,000 and her bail is $2,000, jail officials said Monday.
